Sasha grew up near Galena, Illinois and graduated from Western Illinois University in 1995. Early in her career, she held senior corporate communications positions at Allstate, Navistar and Ace Hardware.
Sasha then worked at USG Corporation, where she served as chief of staff to the CEO. She led communications that helped transform the culture and reputation of the 100-year-old manufacturing company into the world’s leading provider of building products and solutions. She steered the company through many transformational moments including the acquisitions of several companies to build the innovation pipeline, the divestiture of their distribution channels, and the navigation of a highly publicized anti-trust litigation.
After USG, she was a member of the Morningstar executive team since early 2017. Sasha led all global corporate communications, media relations and public affairs as their Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Communications. She was responsible for elevating the company’s profile and boosting its brand reputation. She has extensive experience developing impactful communications strategies targeted to drive business outcomes and increasing engagement and thought leadership among internal and external global audiences. She is a recognized thought leader in corporate reputation strategy and advancement. She is also known for working closely with all major media outlets worldwide as well as navigating Wall Street on behalf of the organizations she supports.
Sasha participates in extensive civic, nonprofit, communications industry and diversity work, and serves on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Corporate Citizenship Center Board of Directors. She is an active member of the United Nations Association, its women’s chapters focused on economic empowerment and the environment, the Women Executive 50 (part of World 50) organization, and an alumnus of the Corporate Leadership Center (Leading Women Executives). Additionally, she is a former board director and executive committee member for the Robert Crown Center for Health Education.
Within the communications industry, Sasha participates in the International Association of Business Communications and the Public Relations Society of America. Sasha is often asked to speak to share her insights around crisis management for corporations and advancement in the media relations profession around the globe. At Morningstar, she led the women’s employee resource group and supported the diversity and public policy councils. Sasha leverages her Wall Street investor experience to manage all Investor Relations for CDP. Sasha resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband Tom and two children, Aricin and Finton.
